Nobody messes around with us!!!

In 1799, Napoleon Bonaparte became a consul. He started a series of changes in France and in 1804, he was crowned king. In different states, he placed people from his family.

All this triggered nationalist feelings in parts of the invaded territories and resistance movements were born to fight against the invasion. The protagonists of these movements were called โ€œpatriotsโ€ (patriotas in Spanish).

It didnโ€™t last long. In 1814, he was beaten in Russia and he got exiled in the island of Elba.
